Library Committee

The Library Committee is responsible for advising and supporting the Librarian, faculty, and individual academic departments on matters related to the library’s role in academic learning, resource management, and collection development. Its primary objective is to ensure the library’s alignment with the institution’s educational goals by formulating policies for the purchase of materials, space management, and automation, as well as guiding the development of services such as bibliographic instruction, reference, and circulation. The committee also oversees budgeting, proposes library activities and programs, and ensures the library’s resources are consistently updated and properly maintained.

In addition, the committee plays a crucial role in promoting library and information literacy across the institution. It works to modernize library services, adopts strategies to enhance readership, and ensures that faculty and students have access to the latest electronic resources. The committee is also responsible for seeking feedback on library services, reviewing department-wise readership, and submitting an annual report on the library’s activities and progress. By continuously improving the library’s offerings and ensuring its resources meet the needs of the academic community, the committee helps foster a rich learning and research environment.
